In a token of appreciation for one of the most iconic French historical building, Ubisoft pledged 500k euros to help restore and rebuild Notre-Dame, following the devastating fire that damaged the historic building this past Monday 15th.
To honor the cultural importance of the historical building, Ubisoft has announced that it will give away a free copy of Assassin’s Creed: Unity on PC via Uplay and Ubisoft Store, stating that:
“In light of Monday’s events, we will be donating €500,000 to help with the restoration and reconstruction of the Cathedral. We encourage all of you who are interested in donating as well. In addition, we want to give everyone the chance to experience the majesty and beauty of Notre-Dame the best way we know how. For one week, we will be giving Assassin’s Creed Unity away free on PC, for anyone who wants to enjoy it.”
Although the game received poor reviews when it launched due to the countless bugs and glitches it had, it still had a gorgeous representation of Paris’ historical buildings and landmarks. If you hadn’t had the opportunity to visit Notre-Dame before the catastrophe, at least now you can explore it digitally via AC: Unity thanks to Ubisoft.
